Australia was introduced to Foreshore in March 2004 with the release of their debut EP Imagine If. Following a sold-out EP launch at Jive nightclub in Adelaide, the band's inaugural release gave rise to national singles “Back It Up” and “Train”, and interest immediately began to develop for the independent, South Australian-based quartet.
Foreshore saw further success in 2004, winning the APRA based 'Emily Burrows Award' for emerging artists, which included a prize of $3000.
After an outstanding 2004, including a string of sell-out shows throughout SA, as well as numerous notable support slots in the eastern states, personal differences forced a double line-up change. Guitarist Ed Mitchell and bassist Tim Anderson joined front man Nick Deegan (guitar/vocals) along with fellow founding member Josh Cock (drums), creating a fresh new energy for Foreshore.
The new line-up began writing and recording Foreshore's follow-up EP October Train. Following on from Imagine If, October Train released in 2005, was recorded at Mixmasters Studio in SA and produced by Chris Tennent (ARIA award winning co-founder of The Superjesus).
October Train finds the band delving deeper into their brand of emotionally charged, melodically driven rock. The new EP marks an impressive leap forward for the band, taking stylistic elements of debut EP Imagine If into fresh, new musical and emotional territory.
The new material covers a wide range of musical and lyrical moods, from the swinging, rockabilly party of “Got My Soul”, power-ballad "Goodnight", to the powerfully moving and autobiographical "What You’ve Got".
Throughout the EP, the band's unique instrumental chemistry is matched by the emotional gravity of Deegan's distinctively poignant vocals.
Foreshore successfully sold-out their October Train EP launch, this time at 500+ capacty venue Fowler's Live. Soon after, the band won the 'Coke Live 'n' Local' competition, voted best Adelaide independent band by judges including Sarah McLeod and Scott Baker-Smith. Recently, Foreshore completed a 3 week eastern states tour with Sydney outfit Midnight Swim, played at the 2006 Adelaide Big Day Out on the Converse Essential Stage, and scored main support slots with Nickelback and INXS
